Tax-Smart Giving
You can support BPD Alliance in ways that are meaningful and tax-efficient. Options such as Donor-Advised Funds, gifts of appreciated securities, and Qualified Charitable Distributions from your IRA allow you to maximize impact while making thoughtful financial decisions.
Your generosity helps fund education, advocacy, and support for individuals and families affected by borderline personality disorder.
Donor-Advised Funds
A Donor-Advised Fund, or DAF, allows you to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax benefit, and recommend grants to nonprofits like BPD Alliance over time.
DAFs are a flexible way to give and may offer these benefits:
-
- Deduct the fair market value of long-term appreciated assets
- Avoid capital gains tax on appreciated securities
- Plan charitable giving over multiple years
You can support BPD Alliance through your DAF by:
-
- Making a one-time or recurring grant
- Naming BPD Alliance as a charitable successor

If you already have a DAF, simply log in to your provider’s platform and recommend a grant to BPD Alliance. For questions, please email thankyou@neabpd.org.

- Keeping donated funds out of your gross income
- Applying your gift toward your annual RMD
Please note that QCDs are tax-free distributions and do not qualify for an additional charitable deduction.
