This Privacy Policy summarizes how we collect, maintain and use personal data through our website (the “Website”) and from other sources, including information collected offline. This Privacy Policy does not apply to personal data collected and used in connection with your employment with us, including any information provided as part of the recruitment and employment process.

B. PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU
We may collect, use, store, share and transfer different categories of personal data and non-personal data about you, which may include:
- Identity Data such as first name, last name, username or similar identifier, marital status, title, date of birth and gender identifier;
- Contact Data such as physical address, email address and telephone number;
- Financial Data such as bank account and payment details;

Direct interactions. You may give us your personal data, such as Identity Data, Transaction Data, and Contact Data by filling in forms or by corresponding with us. This includes personal data you provide when you, for example:
- Contact us by email, phone or mail, either using addresses or numbers posted on our Websites or when you contact our employees directly;
- Make a donation to us;
- Register for and participate in our services or events;
- Sign up/register on our Website to receive information from us or for our events and services;

F. COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKING MECHANISMS
We may also collect data about your use of our Website through the use of Internet server logs, cookies, tracking pixels, and/or other tracking technologies. As we adopt additional technologies, we may also gather additional information through other methods.

Web beacons are small strings of code that are placed on websites and in email messages, and/or online ads. They are sometimes called “clear GIFs” (Graphics Interchange Format), “GIF tags”, “Action tags”, “tracking pixels” or “pixel tags.” Web beacons are most often used in conjunction with cookies to track activity on our Website. When you visit a particular web page, web beacons notify us of your visit and for other related website statistics. Since web beacons are used in combination with cookies, if you disable cookies the web beacons will only detect an anonymous website visit. When used in an email, web beacons enable us to know whether you have received or opened the email and may be used for other analytics, personalization, and advertising.
Web beacons and cookies and other tracking technologies automatically collect Technical Data which in some cases may include personal data (such as IP addresses). G. HOW WE SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We may share your personal data with the parties set out below for the purposes set out in Section D above (“How We Use Your Personal Data”).
- Internal Parties: Individuals or groups within NEABPD for operational purposes.
- Our related organizations, affiliates and partners (if applicable).
- External Third Parties: third parties who perform services on our behalf, such as for fundraising assistance.
- Parties as part of a business transaction: third parties to whom we may, for example transfer, or otherwise change our organization.
- Professional advisers: advisors (e.g., lawyers, bankers, auditors and insurers) who, for example, may provide services.
- Government Authorities: U.S. Internal Revenue Service and other government agencies, regulators and authorities.
We do not allow our third-party service providers to use your personal data for their own purposes and only permit them to process your personal data for specified purposes and in accordance with our instructions. However, we may allow third parties to use information that has been de-identified or aggregated.
NEABPD will not sell your personal data to any third parties or share it with third parties for the third party’s direct marketing purposes.
H. HOW WE SECURE YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We have put in place security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost or destroyed, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered, or disclosed while it is under our control. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to those who have a need to know.
We will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are legally required to do so.
I. HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL DATA
We will only retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it. To determine the appropriate retention period for personal data, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure of your personal data, the purposes for which we process your personal data and whether we can achieve those purposes through other means, and applicable legal requirements.
J. HOW WE RESPOND TO “DO-NOT-TRACK” SIGNALS
Some web browsers may transmit “do-not-track” signals to websites with which the browser communicates. Our Website does not currently respond to these “do-not-track” signals.
K. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
When applicable, we are committed to collecting and processing personal data of children in accordance with law. While in some instances we may collect personal data about children with the consent of a parent or guardian, we do not otherwise knowingly solicit data from, or target communications to, children. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with personal data, he or she should contact us as described in Section A above (“How to Contact Us”). We will take reasonable steps to delete such data from our database within a reasonable time.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 on our Website. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 13 has provided personal data to NEABPD through our Website, please contact us as described in Section A above (“How to Contact Us”) and we will take reasonable steps to delete it as soon as practicable.
L. LINKS TO OTHER SITES
As a convenience to visitors and users of our Website, NEABPD may offer links to other sites that we believe may offer useful information. The inclusion of a link on the NEABPD Website does not imply our endorsement of the linked site or service. This Privacy Policy is no longer applicable when you leave our site by way of link. Each of these linked sites maintains its own independent privacy policies and procedures, which you should consult before providing any of your personal data.
M. CALIFORNIA’S SHINE THE LIGHT LAW
California’s Shine the Light Law (California Civil Code Section 1798.83) permits California residents to request certain information regarding a company’s disclosure of “personal information” to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. NEABPD does not disclose personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make any Shine the Light Law requests, please contact us using our contact information listed in Section A above (“How to Contact Us”). Be sure to include your name and address. You can include your email address if you want to receive a response by email. Otherwise, we will respond by postal mail within the time required by law.
N. NEVADA REVISED STATUTES SECTION 603A
Section 603A of the Nevada Revised Statutes permits Nevada residents who are NEABPD “consumers” to at any time, submit a request to an “operator” of a website in Nevada directing the operator not to make any sale of any “covered information” the operator has collected or will collect about the consumer. NEABPD does not currently “sell” or plan to sell covered information as defined in the Nevada law. If you are a Nevada resident, you may submit a verified request by contacting us by sending an email to info@NEABPD.org to opt out of sales and we will record your instructions and incorporate them in the future if our policy changes. We will respond within the time required by law.
O. OTHER STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS
Some state laws, to the extent they are applicable to NEABPD, may provide residents specific rights, subject to some limitations, exclusions and the verification of your identity, related to the personal data that we process. These rights may include, but not be limited to: (1) the right to access your personal data; (2) the right to correct inaccuracies in your personal data; (3) the right to delete your personal data; (4) the right to data portability; and (5) the right to opt-out of the processing of your personal data for targeted advertising. To exercise your state privacy rights (as applicable), please contact us as described in Section A above (“How to Contact Us”).
NEABPD is committed to compliance with state privacy laws and continues to monitor developments.
P. LAWFUL BASIS FOR PROCESSING PERSONAL DATA
We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to do so. Most commonly, we will use your personal data in the following circumstances:
- Where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you;
- Where it is necessary for our legitimate interests (or those of a third party) and your interests and fundamental rights do not override those interests;
- Where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation; or
- We may also use your personal data in the following situations, which are likely to be rare:
- Where we need to protect your interests (or someone else’s interests); or
- Where it is needed in the public interest or for official purposes.
Note that we may process your personal data for more than one lawful basis depending on the specific purpose for which we are using your data.
We will only use your personal data for the purposes for which we collected it, unless we need to use it for another reason and that reason is compatible with the original purpose. If we need to use your personal data for an unrelated purpose, we will notify you and we will explain the legal basis which allows us to do so.

Q. DATA TRANSFERS

R. PRIVACY POLICY UPDATES
Our Website and our activities may change from time to time. As a result, at times it may be necessary for NEABPD to make changes to this Privacy Policy. Please check this Privacy Policy periodically for changes. If we make any changes, the updated Privacy Policy will be posted with a revised effective date, unless another type of notice is required by applicable law. Your continued use of our Website and/or services after any such updates take effect will constitute acceptance of any changes.
